Sewing Workshop: Reusable Produce Bags & Clothing Repair

June 10 @ 12:30 pm 2:30 pm

Join us for an A²ZERO Week reusable produce bag sewing workshop and clothing repair clinic on Monday, June 10th from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm. We’ll have needles, thread and other materials and an instructor available to help you learn how to sew buttons, hems, rips and patches. All caught up on your repairs? Join us to learn how to make upcycled produce bags from sheets and scrap fabric. Bring bags home or donate extras you make to the Ann Arbor Farmers market. We’ll be handing them out at the market to increase awareness about food waste and give people alternative options to single-use plastic produce bags.

Location: SCRAP Creative Reuse, 4567 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.

Organized by: SCRAP Creative Reuse, the Office of Sustainability and Innovation at the City of Ann Arbor, and ZeroWaste.Org.

Instructor: Ann Asplund, the owner of AnnOther Day. Ann has decades of experience in mending, remaking and making clothes.
